NEW FOR 2020! SAVORY IN NEW YORK CITY ARE RUNNING A 12-MONTH CULINARY ARTS MIT PROGRAM!


Expand your horizons and take a chance on the big apple. This new program sees students spend 12-months based in the heart of Manhattan with Savory. 

This exciting new opportunity sees hospitality students dive into the world of culinary arts in special events for a top hospitality company in the USA. As a Culinary Arts MIT intern, you will be exposed to keys areas culinary arts operations with a best-in-class catering provider.

This Intern and Training Culinary Arts MIT Program provide university students and young professionals with the opportunity to train in the United States for a period of 12 months. The program is a rotational program that will have 4-month rotations in the following departments.
 
  • Prep/ Garde Manger
  • Line Cook
  • Special Events
 
Participants will be paid a competitive hourly rate of $24.00 and will be guaranteed a minimum of 32 hours per week, with the potential for overtime during peak seasons. 
 
Housing is not provided on this program; participants are responsible for sourcing their own accommodation for the duration of their time in the U.S.
 
Participants will have plenty of opportunities for cultural exchange whilst on this program. From gourmet food fairs in Astoria and Brooklyn right down to Saturday brunches in East Village Manhattan, there will always be something to do.
 
Participants on this program will be required to obtain a J-1 Intern or Trainee visa through Yummy Jobs and will be able to train for a period of time as outlined by Savory. Upon completion of the program, participants will have up to 30 days to travel within the United States. Participants must then return to their home country upon completion of the program.

Our custom 10,000 square foot commissary located in Bryant Park allows us to minimize your onsite back of house needs, resulting in food service that is nimble, lightweight, and cost-efficient.

APPLICATION DATES
  • Applications for the Savory NYC Program for 2020 are open.
  • Applicants are required to be available for a full 12-month contract in order to be considered.
  • We currently have start dates available in March 2020.
INTERVIEWING PROCESS
  • Interviews with the Yummy Jobs Team will take place via Skype. Applicants will be required to attend a pre-screen interview via Skype with a member of the Yummy Jobs Team in order to be considered.​
  • If successful, applicants will be required to attend a final interview with The Alisal Ranch HR Team via Skype.
